Originally released in 1989, INTERACTER was our earlier multi-platform user-interface and graphics subroutine library, which enabled interactive Fortran 77/9x based programs to run on GUI and character displays on a variety of platforms including DOS, Windows, Unix, Linux, VMS, RISC OS, PRIMOS and OS/2.

INTERACTER was superseded in 1997 by Winteracter. Development of INTERACTER ceased in 2000. Technical support was withdrawn in 2006.

INTERACTER is no longer available. We now recommend Winteracter for new Fortran GUI applications running on Windows, Linux or Mac.
